This Guy Got Burned
Gene Cranick, along with the South Fulton fire department, watched his house burn to the ground in Obion County, Tennessee. The firefighters were fully capable of putting out the inferno but elected not to do so due to the fact that Mr. Cranick neglected to pay the fee of $75 to South Fulton. One word, hilarious. Don’t find it funny? Just wait there is more. Obion County does not have fire protection of any kind it has been that way for 20 years or more, so for that reason the county is to pay South Fulton an annual $75 fee for the services of their fire department. According to Mr. Cranick, paying the fee this year just slipped his mind, but I bet it won’t ‘slip his mind’ again. Well if the firemen weren’t going to put out the fire then why did they even bother to show up? Were they there just to taunt poor old Gene? Of course not that would be cruel, the South Fulton fire department still owed a service to the neighbors of Mr. Cranick who didn’t forget to pay the annual fee, so once the blaze got out of control they hopped into action and put out the flames. Still don’t find this amusing? Did I mention that Mr. Cranick’s brother was so upset with the firemen that he assaulted the fire chief and later on got carried away in cuffs? Well yeah that happened too. Look you’re probably thinking this is a horrible story and that the fire department should have done their job, but I would totally disagree. Mr. Cranick was never in any danger he was out of the house when he firemen arrived, had he been in there I’m sure they would have ran in and saved him. In my opinion this was the South Fulton fire department taking a stand for firefighters everywhere that are underappreciated and overlooked. These are men that run into burning buildings everyday, and once more these men in particular had no obligation to this county, it wasn’t even their jurisdiction. So you know what I say tough shit Gene Cranick, remember to pay the fee next time.

I agree with you, man,. Gene Cranick should have paid the fee.
ReplyDeleteI feel that firefighters are indeed under appreciated and overlooked everyday. Sometimes, people forget that firefighters run INto buildings when everyone else is running OUT of them. I think that everyone needs to watch the program "102 minutes that changed America" it is 100% RAW footage of clips, audio, etc of the 9-11 attacks. In this program, you clearly see thousand of brave firefighters, police, etc. running into the buildings not knowing their fate--or what else was next.
The look of fear on their faces made me cry...Not gonna lie. It just is so heartbreaking seeing their faces and wondering what they were thinking and if there were scared or whatnot. The sad thing is, I bet at least half of the people shown on this program sadly did not make it out alive on that horrific day.
I suggest everyone watch the program. It really is an eye opener. Much different perspective from what we all were seeing broadcast on the news.
